Paul,
As you know everyone is either getting over a perceived "life hurdle", in the middle of one, or heading for one. Your comments on thanksgiving and gratitude are right on. We choose whether we will allow the "life hurdle" to cripple us or to deal with it as best we can. Being thankful/grateful for the lessons we've learned and the strength we've gained is part of preparing for our next hurdle, when ever it may come. It also prepares us to reach out to others in similar cituations to give them support.
How sad it is to see people focus only on the negative side of things in their life and not appreciate all that is going well. If we stopped to count ALL that is going well, how would we ever find time to be dissatisfied with our life.
Feelling blessed in all things,
ks
